I have a AMD 6850 in my system and i played Starcraft II. Enjoyed it a lot so decided to play the original too.
My problem is the original looks like........ dunno what.
Here see the difference:

And here is a capture of Starcraft II

Help me play the original properly.

I have the latest drivers and catalyst profile.

Thanks in advance.

Right click the Starcraft icon -> Properties -> Compatibility tab
Check ALL the Settings, but do NOT check Compatibility Mode
When you are ready to play, right click your desktop and click “Screen Resolution”. Leave this window open. Now launch Starcraft!

For whatever reason, this admittedly odd fix solves the color issue. The most important bit: leave the Screen Res window open while you play and you’re golden.

I had that problem as well. Apparently Alt-tabbing sometimes could solve the problem :pt1cable:

Another way to do it i learn is to

1.start the game
2.alt tab out
3.start task manager
4.go to processes
5.end the "explorer.exe"
6.alt tab back into game

and that fixes it, and it also removed those weird side bars in windows 7

to bring windows back up you

1.start the task manager
2.go to applications
3.run new process
4.type in explorer and your good

Hope this helped someone :)

P.S. this also worked with diablo and diablo II
