hello,

i am currently running the Gloria II gaphics card on an AMD Athlon system using the Abit KT7A-Raid motherboard under windows Win2K. i want to have dual monitor setup. before i go and purchase a second graphics card, is there anything i need to know? i know that some people have had problems getting their AGP card to act as the primary video adapter and have had to switch to the PCI card in order to get the dual monitors to work. because i use this system for 3D animation, it is extremely important that i have my Gloria II card acting as the primary card.

help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend checking out the following information regarding multiple view cards/twinview under Windows 2000.

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q238/8/86.asp

http://www.win2000mag.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=7554

Next, I would highly recommend checking out this web site which specializes in W2K multiple monitor support information: http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/

Finally, I would HIGHLY suggested subscribing to the
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit newsgroup.
You might want to post your questions/concerns there as they have MANY users that could better address them for you.

I hope this helps address to your questions.

thanks a lot for the info. parts of the articles mention using the PCI card as the primary card. If i ended up having to use the PCI card as my primary, would that affect performance and functionality in 3D apps such as softimage|3D, Maya, and 3D Studio Max? the Gloria II has special setting for each program and most of the time they won't run unless you use the specific openGL configuration.
