anyone here gutsy enough to change IRQ settings ?
While troubleshooting my W2K OS system , i found i have SIX
items sharing one IRQ...
am i wrong or is that a bad ting ?

IRQ 9
microsoft ACPI compliant system
VIA USB host controller
VIA USB host controller (x2)
LT win modem
Creative soundblaster audio PCI
Ethernet network card...
(all the above on IRQ 9)
first question..what is the first item (ACPI compliant...)
second question ,how hard is it to change the IRQ around ???
anyone give me step by step instructions ?

Setting them is no problem. But some resource settings can not be changed in windows.
First look in your bios and dissable all unused ports . Such as Serial ports 1/2. Parallel port if you have a usb printer.Joystick port if you don't have a joystick on the sound card.Or USB if you don't use it.
This will free up some extra IRQs and then let windows reconfigure itself first.

I aint signing nothing!!!
