How to connect ps3 slim to samsung lcd pc monitor

So that is just a pc monitor with HDMI but not speakers, so you should be able to connect a set of speakers on the ps3. I think you could use ps3 its digital output if you have digital speakers or you can connect the analog cable and connect the audio cables to a normal set of speakers.

That means you will have to configure the sound on the ps3.

yeah either check if the monitor has audo out jacks to compensate for eating the whole HDMI cable or see if PS3 will output to HDMI and regular AV audio at the same time and connect your speakers to that (might need a cable adapter here).

Edit: yep, monitor manufacturer ate HDMI with sound and decided it's ok to not have sound :(

so if i have speakers with a normal headphone jack i can just plug the RCA plug into there and i will get sound? also can someone confirm that this plug is the one that i need for the audio: http://canadacomputers.com/product [...] _id=024144

You need the female 3.5mm Jack version otherwise you will need to purchase an additional 3.5mm coupler.

Dam this is confusing. I don't get why i cant use the one that i posted. Don't i connect the audio (red and white) cables that came from the ps3 to the red and white female RCA connector from this (http://canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=72_76...), then connect to my speakers with that third connector?

No, you will need to connect the 2 RCA white and red to the back of your speakers which will have the inputs for them. You probably can attach the white and red cables but then you won't be able to connect the single end to the speakers, because the 3.5mm jack on the speakers would be an audio output for headphones, not an input.

actually guys i just found out that my monitor has a headphone jack. so scratch the cables right? since i have an hdmi cable running from my monitor to the ps3 and hdmi has sound as well, i can just plug in my speakers to the back of my monitor correct?

the link is just to show you that my monitor does in fact have a headphone jack but for some reason it is not mentioned on the specs page. thanks guys

could you post the image separately? I can't see to connect to samsung gallery site...
what does it say next to the round port in the top right of the picture? I'm betting it's not for speakers

OK, thats an example just to show you the inputs and outputs.

This is my amplifier:

These are the inputs and outputs:

The white ones and red ones (on the upper side) are the inputs(coming from my pc outputs).this is the cable im using http://www.esofties.co.uk/images/products/342061-1873.j...

The ones are below them, in yellow, are my speakers connected to the outputs of the amplifier.

If your monitor has the headphone jack, then you should be able to connect your speakers there without problem. I hope now you understand the inputs and outputs!
