Hi, I'm Running Windows Vista, on an Hp touchsmart.
I recently found out about the game RIFT, and wanted to download it, however, after i went to download the game, it said my DirectX needed to be updated to 9, so i clicked ok and it went forward to update it for me, so far i got to the install button and clicked, and this message came up "Setup has detected one or more DIRECTX component files are in use by an application. Please exit all applications before running this installation again"
ok so i closed everything on my computer and re tried the install...same result
rebooted my computer, didnt open anything, tried download again...same result
went to see what version i had by typing "dxdiag" on run, turns out im running 11, everyone says 11 is compatible with 9, so why wont rift load?
