Flickering screen battlefield bad company 2

Hello,
I have loaded battlefield bad company onto my pc and got the updated patch....The game loads ok up until i get to where i login at the game title page and the screen begins to flicker and i cant login...I have registered my game with ea and still it doesnot work. Is this a compatibility issue ?
