Personally I do not understand all the nonsense. I have had a V710
for a few weeks now. I am using Moto Phone Tools just fine syncing
with Outlook for both the calendar and the contacts.

I have taken lots if pictures and I think the quality is as good as I
would expect from a camera phone. I am using a 128MB Transflash card
for storage that I have taken photos off in the SD adapter that came
with the card onto my PC. I have also emailed photos just fine from
the phone and have used Verizon's Pixplace (not much value there
except to share a bunch of photos when you need to with friends)

I have put MP3 and videos on the transflash card and they play fine.
I created the .3gp format videos by converting .avi and .mov files
using Apple Quicktime Pro 6.5.1.

I use my Jabra Bluetooth wireless headset while driving and love the
voice recognition for dialing.

I also put a screen protector (meant for a PDA and trimmed with a
razor) over the screen to protect it.

The battery life lasts me many calls all day, I charge it at night
always with a bar or two left.

Beats me why so many people are bitching.

I may have a few wish list items for the phone, but no complaints. It's been
reliable, and gets good signal. So Im content. I like the frills, and the
Bluetooth headset is exactly what I wanted.

Hi Bob, could you please eleborate about Outlooksyncing i.e, what
version of Moto Phone Tools are you using and what is the transfer
method (cable? if so the brand)...

Thanks, another satisfied 710 owner (except that I still need to get
all of my contacts into it....)

I am not at the PC I sync with, but it is the latest version, I
upgraded from within the app. I sync by cable, I dont know the brand
of cable as it is one I've used with my 720 before. They are all the
same I think.

Most of the complaints involve the so-called "crippled" Bluetooth
implementation, which does not allow for sync of contacts or files
between the phone and other sources. The TransFlash card slot - at
least now - can move files back and forth with an included (with the
TF card) SD card adaptor.

This was never a concern for me, either moving the contacts or the
files. I wanted a solid, strong performing phone with good RF and the
ability to use Bluetooth for both Internet connection and wireless
headset, which the 710 does quite well.

Happy, here...

I have had my V710 since Labor Day and it's by far the best phone I've ever
had. The bluetooth headset works very well and I wouldn't want to be without
a phone with this feature in the future.
