Join in finalizing the name of the LAN over IRC!!!

On Sunday, November 3rd, at 9:00 PM EST, there will be a IRC meeting to name the Northeast LAN with THG. A few things to keep in mind while formulating names:

The goal that we want to achieve here is something larger than FragNation, larger than Western New York, even Larger than New York State. We want to create a NorthEastern LAN event on par with something like QuakeCon. With that in mind we want people to feel that we are above local, regional, state wide LAN squabbles; above one particular hardware sites community vs another, and open to all forms of multiplayer gaming. So when thinking of a name please keep those facts in your mind.

Todd would like to keep military involvement as that gives us a certain level of integrity. That may be a good area of influence as well for you name suggestions.

We will be registering a new domain also, as having a new site for this and future events to separate ourselves from past work done with FragNation. We hope to use FragNation as a fundraising tool for future larger events.



This is why we are having an IRC meeting Sunday evening. There you can pour out you ideas on names and even fire off ideas as they come to you from a group brain storming experience. I will have updates here to you by Sunday afternoon with all the info regarding where and exact time for the Name Meeting.

Is the date posted in the main thread for the event the final date? Originally, I would've been able to drive up if it were the 7th, but the new date (vacation and family), I can't make. Argh!

Soon enough, Intel will make the i845s...imagine dual channel Sdram...*shudder*
