On the 8910 there are the usual jacks, power & headset, plus a 3rd jack on
the back. There is no indication on the case or flip cover as to its
function. Antenna?

Can anyone help?

No it is a useless jack on a Verizon phone for a flash attachment for
the camera. Another one of the OEM items that Verizon disabled.

It's a coaxial connector -- an antenna jack for a hands-free
automobile installation.
