My 4 year old HP4470c has suddenly started applying a heavy magenta
wash with lines to both edges of a scan and is washed out in the
middle. Restarting and fiddling with has had no affect so seems to be
hardware related. Looking at the light it looks OK and moves fine and
the glass is clean. Any suggestions or is new scanner time?
