I just bought a new Asus A7v133 MB and Tbird 1.2 GIG w/ 266MHZ bus. I benched it last night with Sandra once I got it up and running. The CPU is showing right where it should however the Raid 0 and memory are showing below where they should. My raid is benching just under what Sandra says typical raid 0 for ATA66 and I have triple checked my HDD's are set for ATA100 and they are identical western digital HDD's. I could understand if it was just under ATA100 but below ATA66???? The memory is showing real low. Almost 30% lower that Sandras typical bench for my chipset "KT133a". I have brand new PC133 RAM. I hope someone could give me insight on what BIOS and other optimal setting I should use. For instance, Should I set my multiplier for 12X and 100MHZ bus "where its at now" or would it perform better with a 133MHZ bus with lower multiplier. I will probably slightly overclock this CPU so any suggestions even if it pushes the 1200MHZ barrier a little would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a similar or exact configuration could you please give me suggestion on optimal settings for BIOS or any setting/config that may help up my performance on Raid and Memory.

Tbird 1200MHZ 266BUS

well, if the chip is rated at 1200/133, then you should set the FSB to 133 Mhz and multiplier to 9. that would make the memory about 33% faster (~15-20% practically) and see if it works with CAS rating of 2. many RAMs rated CAS3 run quite well at 2. its in the BIOS setup->chipset features section

as far as RAID with ATA/100 is concerned, i guess there is some problem with VIA ATA/100 and even ATA/66. my bench on my KT133/686A with seagate ATA/66 drives give much much lesser than expected - about 12 Mbps - according to BCM diags.

did you install the promise ATA/100 drivers or just the VIA 4in1? get those Promise drivers at http://www.asus.com/products/Motherboard/driver_ide.html#ata100/U100d160b32.zip
