Problems with XP and 5370c scanner

Hello,

This worked before, but after moving everything to another room, it
doesn't work anymore. I loved this scanner but our affair is beginning
to end I'm afraid!

I have uninstalled the Prec Pro2.52 s/w and reinstalled it from the
sj666en file at HP, changed the usb cables and followed the instructs
but I do not even get 'Imaging Devices' in Dev Mgr. I connected a
webcam to see of the USB was fine and 'Imaging Devs' did came up fine
but with the web cam info only in Dev Mgr.

The scanner blinks 6 times continually when connected but will not move
is not found in Prec Pro.

I would like to be able to see if a driver has been installed but not
sure where to look.

I feel I should clean it all out and start again or is there anyway I
can see if the scanner itself is broken

Anyone help me please?
