I've got a P3-750 CPU in an Asus CUV4X motherboard here, and lately it has just started rebooting constantly, sometimes even when I am in the BIOS! I thought the trouble might have been overheating, but the temp in the BIOS is around 40 degrees, which is well within spec. It's not overclocked, and I have tried swapping EVERYTHING out of the system except the CPU and motherboard. Any suggestions as to my trouble? Thanks in advance!

Did you change your setup recently? (Hardware or Software) Did you make sure that everything is seated securely? A loose component would cause the reboot, especially hard disk. If I had to guess, I'd say a cably might be loose.

Are we there yet?

I've just changed the RAM but I tried the old stick and it does the same thing too. I've swapped out different cables, vid card, power supply, hard drive, floppy....very frustrating but thank you for your suggestion

another possibility would be power supply - check all lines and run motherboard monitor/asus probe and check all your voltages are within spec and stable.

I too say power supply, when you swapped it out did you try a high watte one? Other than that Just check and recheck all connections, especially main power into the board.

Crap, all the good ones are already taken.

Yep, tried a standard 250 W PSU and a 330 W Enermax that I use in my main system. Maybe the voltage regulators on the board are #@$@??

I've never done this, but I've heard this is a good way to test if you have a bad MB if it's restarting. Use the back of a number 2 pencil (the eraser) and tap lightly all over te motherboard and see if you can induce a restart.

Just passing on what I've heard. Personally I would say that your P/S is bad, but if you've swapped it I would give this a try.
