I have a HP StorageWorks X1600 Network Storage Server, It has 12 hardrive bays. Using the server utilities you can raid all the hdds in the server together. I have filled up all 12 bays each with 2TB hdd's. I want to install windows server 2008 r2 on it and have all the space available in one big raided drive. But when i install Windows Server on it it divides it up and does not let me use a good percent of the hdd space i have. I tried using one drive just for the os and only raiding 10 (leaving 1 as a back up) when i installed windows i could not see the raided drive in disk manager.

How can i install Windows SErver 2008 r2 ona 20+gb raided server and keep all my memory together in one partition?

Most likely what is happening is you need to find the proper installation drivers from HP for your RAID controller in that X1600. The Windows installation disc is probably able to see the individual drives using some standardized built-in controller driver, but unless you have the proper driver from HP, which you can tell Windows to add during your installation procedure, then it will not be able to detect the settings you configured in your RAID controller for the actual arrays.

You did not mention how you configured your RAID array. You need to do this before installing Windows.
