Xbox frustration

GTA IV will only load as far as the warning screen and load no further. brought it to my friends house and it worked fine. Have i setup the Xbox incorrectly.. I have Xbox 360 250g with kinect special edition spanking new, my friend has the older 360 ..and the GTA game was bought with the xbox and idea's

Does the game just hang or does it boot you back to the dashboard or something like that? I would think it was a problem with being able to read the game, but I'm no expert. Since it works at your friends it sounds like you have a faulty xbox. Have you experienced problems with other games?

Does it seem to be "stuck" on your screen - or does it "go back" / "crash" ?
i think if you can tell us more maybe we can be more helpful

other than that - could be just a bad copy of the game.
