Lately I been trying to get into some chat rooms that I can not get in because my Internet Explorer tells me that I do not have a Java Enabled Browser.
How do I get it?...Do I have to pay for it?
I went to Microsoft Corp. and could nopt find any Java Program for my IE...except one small Java Conversion Tool for developers....
Thanks Flanders...but I have a problem with SUN's Java program and I am looking for the JAVA that Microsoft has and I can not find.
Using Firefox I downloaded Sun's Java program and I started to have serious issues with some programs I normally use in my computer....one of them was that I was not any longer able to send nor recieve pictures using MSN Messenger...and Firefox was having a very erratical performance.
I had to delete Sun's Java and since then no more problems.
But I apreciate your attention.
Microsoft doesn't have a JAVA program anymore. IIRC, it WAS called virtual machine, or sometheing like that, and they quit useing it a couple of years ago because of some law suits or something. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember hearing about this somewhere. If you could get it, it's not likely that it would work with Firefox anyways.

Your arrogance is boring!
I wouldn't install M$ Virtual Machine ... Microsoft essentially took's Sun's Java and modified the code to suit it's own purposes (whatever that could be) ... but in the process, opened up some exploits and security holes ... which is how the infamous CoolWebSearch spyware/highjacker get's installed.
If you install SP2, I've read that M$ (thru SP2), uninstalls M$ VM ... so your gonna end up with Sun's latest Java pkg anyway ...

Auto-installing Spyware infections (CoolWebSearch) occurs due to exploits in Microsoft's discontinued Java Virtual Machine v1.1.4 (Build 5.0.3810). Infection occurs by simply browsing the wrong website. Java was originally licensed from Sun Microsystems but later modified by Microsoft. Microsoft's modifications to the Java code are the suspected reasons these exploits exist. There are no patches from Microsoft to fix this. To protect yourself uninstall MSJVM using this tool.
Notes - Windows SP1a and SP2 will uninstall MSJVM. However, it will not hurt to run this since it is possible for an application or person to reinstall MSJVM on top of SP1a and SP2.
Sun Java will work just fine with Internet Explorer... don't know why you thought you had to download Firefox to use it. IE is all I use at home, so I know for a fact Sun Java works just fine with it.
(Also works with Firefox, since that's what I use at work)
<font color=red> If you design software that is fool-proof, only a fool will want to use it. </font color=red>
BTW ... I have Sun's Java installed on IE 6.0, FF 1.0.1 and Mozilla 1.7.6 ... I have <b>no problems</b> ... but read the installation instructions carefully ... most people screw up by not installing it correctly ...
<b>FireFox 1.0.1: It worked when I got up today ...</b>
