A7M266 Bios version vs Performance...

I decided to try the dífferent bios versions available for this board and do a benchmark on each one.

I ran two sets of benchmarks on each version.
Memtach - Only tests memory thru put
PerformanceTest v3.4 - Does a fair estimate of the entire system.

My conclusion is:
The only "major" difference were in memory thru put, nothing else worth mentioning.

The best perfomer is the current release version 1003 and the worst is 1002. The two beta versions are all slower then 1003 both in memory and overall. Not by much though...

The new memory settings avilable in the beta versions did almost nothing to improve performance. Even at their lowest settings (1-1-1-1) they were still outperformed by 1003.

1002 had a quite large decrease in memory thru put, compared to 1003. In my case it performed 11% worse...


If anyone have reached a different conclusion the please post it...

Great to see that the A7M266 1003 bios that I just installed is really that much better.

Has anyone done performance tests with the new 1004 bios that was on the German site? I don't want to install it until I know what it's like.

Are there any later then the "1004a266.02F"? (1.004 Beta 2F (I belive it was))

Because I tested that version as well...

Lets see if I've got this straight now.
The beta versions that you refer to in your test as being slower than 1003 are beta versions of 1004?
