I recently purchased a Biostar M7VKL with a Duron 700 MHz chip.
Everything is onboard, so setup should be simple. Mount the board, install the Ram and off you go.
Problem is the system tries to boot but stalls out during the process. Lights on the keyboard, disk drive and CD Rom are lit. The hard drive comes on, but the monitor doesn't do anything. I don't get any beeps - the thing just freezes up. I tried reinstalling memory on several occasions but the stick clicks into place every time. I even tried the memory from 2 other computers and had the same result. There's nothing else to 'seat' on the motherboard. Video and audio are on-board. I don't have a modem or any other cards. The Ram is the only thing plugged in.
I'm about to pull my hair out. I recently put together an ASUS A7V133 with several cards and it was a breeze compared to this. Please advise if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.
