I know the game hasn't come out yet but I was just curious if I would be able to run the game at max settings at 1920 X 1080 res. and still be able to get 60+ fps. These are my specs:

Mobo: Asus Rampage III Formula
CPU: Intel i7 950 3.7 ghz
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaw 12 gb 1600 mhz.
GPU: Evga GTX 590 Classified Edition
HD: WD 1 TB 7200 rpm
OS : Windows 7 64-bit

Solution
you will be able to max out the game and just hit 60fps avg, min fps will hopefully be no less than 58 or at least thats what the benches say with that card and an intel i5.

Not To Sure. But Sources Say that it should have similar System requirements from Bad Company 2 since it's going to be more opitmized so as a benchmark I would use BC2 and if you can run that 60+ FPS and everything im guessing you'll be able to as well (maybe turn down AA or something)

No you will need another GTX 590....

Are you serious or just trolling. You have a GTX 590, of course you will be able to max it. I don't care that the official specs are not out, but I can guarantee that GTX 590 will do the trick. I am willing to bet my CF 5870 will probably be able to max it, just maybe not past 2xAA.

I think that when Skyrim and BF3 will be launched, the activity of this sub-forum will drop by at least 25%, no more threads like "Can I max out BF3?" or "Will my rig be able to play Skyrim?"

Unless the users have problems like "BF3 doesn't run smooth" kinda threads, the activity will still be the same. LOL.

Hello, I would like to ask if my new computer could ultra-max (whatever) BF 3.

CPU : Phenom II x6 1100T (can overclock if needed)
GPU : (dilemma) HD6950 2gb or GTX 560 TI OC . nvidia card is 70 eur cheaper.
Ram : 4Gb 1600 Mhz or 8Gb 1333Mhz/1600Mhz
OS : Windows 7 64-bit

I actually want to get this computer done as cheap as possible but still be able to run BF 3 ultra-max. ( AA isin't that important)

Any advice is welcome.
--------------------------------
I am curious, because different sites say different things. AA is not that important.
Some say that the CPU might be weak, some say it might be an overkill, I dont know. Or maybe this rig is just good enough to go 40-60 fps on ultra? Resolution should be as high as possible, although i don't have a good monitor(flat screen from 2005), but still(gonna buy a better one later).

Sorry about any grammatical mistakes or word uses, because mother language is not english.

If you disable v-sync, you'll get 120+ FPS!

Thanks man, but hmm. i5 is actually more expensive and worse than Phenom II x6 1100T but which graphic card would you preffer? And what was the benchmarking site?

Really? I've heard stories about Phenom x6 1100T having 6 cores + 2 locked cores and I don't actually want to overclock that much , oh i forgot to mention that I will be having a water cooling system. Of course i will be getting a decent motherboard which allows me to easly overclock etc..( I do not want to overclock because i want my computer to last for a while.)

No game can use 6-cores, so unless your primary goal is video editing, go for the 2500k. I don't even think the 1100T has any locked cores either.

And, I don't mean to sound rude by this, but if you aren't comfortable with overclocking, then you shouldn't have a water cooling system. They require maintenace from what I understand, and are not necessary. Overclocking the 2500k is simple. If you can operate a computer, you can overclock a 2500k. Literally all you do is go into BIOS and change the multiplier. That's it, just one setting. Even at stock though, the 2500k destroys any AMD processor in gaming.

1100T is slower than the 2500k. More cores doesn't mean more performance. The 2500k can overclock well even with stock cooling.

Meh, thanks alot. I actually did some researching aswell and found out that 2500k is better (basically the same text as you wrote). In my opinion too water cooling is an overkill.

About the water cooling.. I've heard that HD6950 2gb tends to get hot. So what would you recommend? Fill the case with alot of fans? Oh, and if I am going to get 2500k then i,m going to overclock for sure.
------------
I want to feel safe about what I,m going to do in the future.

Ah, you are thinking of water cooling for the video card. I have never owned a current-gen video card. But I don't think water cooling is necessary, unless you plan on majorly overclocking the video card. Wait for someone who owns or has used a 6950 to reply though to comment on the heat, since I have never owned one.

You should be okay so long as you have the turbo button pressed. You also might want to upgrade to super vga, it's much better than regular vga. I have a system like that and it plays Doom II with no problems, I'm guessing BF3 will be similar.
