How many PCI buses do current motherboards have?

Do most current PC motherboards contains more than one PCI buses? Which chip is normally used to extend the PCI bus?

the number of PCI slots supported is decided by the chipset, and the organisation of the motherboard. generally, it wont be possible to extend the PCI bus unless you put another PCI to PCI bridge chip.

if you regard them as different, there might be 2/3 PCI busses, 33MHz/32bit and 66MHz/32~64bit ones.
