can't find a 'none' option.
a looked and found suggestions for bitpim and loading a blank image. great
info indeed, but is that the only option? buying a cable and loading an
image to the phone to get rid of the annoying background pics?
TIA for any info.
PS, got the lg6100 this evening. aside from the wallpaper, the phone seems
quite nice...

Other than the lack of ERI banner and the bug in the volume controls and no
reminder beep for missed calls and a speakerphone that distorts when set on
anything but low, it isn't too bad. I sent mine back because of these
things.

My VX4400 is getting a little long in the tooth, and have begun to
casually browse again. A "missed-call/message waiting beep" is
something I've missed since I gave up my pager. How common is this
feature these days, Verizon or otherwise?
(It's the smaller usability features like this that aren't frequently
spelled-out in many marketing documents.)

I retired my alpha pager a few years ago and also use the phone to replace
it. It is real annoying to have to remember to look at a device all of the
time to check if you missed a message. The vx4400 is a good phone but as you
said it lacked a reminder. I replaced it with a vx4500 in July which does
have a reminder for messaging and voicemail.
