Hi,

Just about to buy a new latop and decided to go for a 15.4" widescreen. I am settled on all the specs, with one exception - do I go for 1280x800 resolution or 1680x1050. The higher resolution costs an extra £50 or so.

The laptop will be mostly used for generaly business use, although playing dvd's and games till certainly be on the cards as well.

I generally dont like text to be too small (better for my eyes), so I am tending towards 1280x800.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for any pointers that you can provide.

If you have a hard time reading small text go for the 1280x800, your eyes will thank you.

I agree with Folken, lower res for text is a definite, but if your going to watch movies or play any games, consider the higher resolution, it makes a big difference. Remember, you can always set the res down when your working with text if you have the better system!

""I generally dont like text to be too small (better for my eyes), so I am tending towards 1280x800.""

If so, why is the question?

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
