How does eldritch blast work?

How does using Eldritch Blast as a warlock work in combat? I already understand how the invocations work, but in CA, it doesn't explain what rolls are involved in hitting someone with Eldritch Bolt. All it says is that the Warlock's DEX influences its ability to hit things with the blast. How does DEX affect the blast?

Are you talking about Neverwinter Nights 2? I'm not sure what game you're on about.
Perhaps it's counted as a long range projectile, therefore dealt with like shooting an arrow? As in you get a dexterity bonus to add to your "to hit" roll for each few dexterity points.
I never knew dexterity was involved though...
