for some time now on assasins creed 2 the game speed is slower then on my friends xbox as if in slow motion
this also messes up cut scenes as the audio is faster then the animation (i dont think the cut scenes are pre rendered vidoes)

this also happens in brother hood with the same problems: slow motion not jerky as if i have low fps just realy slow and cut scenes being hard to follow

my system specs are as follows

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
CPU
Intel Pentium E6700 @ 3.20GHz 33 °C
Wolfdale 45nm Technology
RAM
2.0GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5G41T-M LX (LGA775) 33 °C
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1440x900@75Hz)
512MB GeForce 8400 GS (CardExpert Technology) 43 °C
Hard Drives
195GB Western Digital WDC WD2000JS-60NCB1 ATA Device (SATA) 26 °C
Optical Drives
LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S ATA Device
TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-H492A ATA Device
DTSoftBusCd00
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

all drivers are up to date

thanking in advance for your help

no it has never played at the same speed as an xbox (i brought my computer round to his house and had them both sat next to each other my pc was going slower then the xbox but no evidence of low fps just slow floatyness)

btw nothing has been overclocked

You are using the GeForce 8400 GS card that is very poor for gaming so this slow motion in games is expected. Get a new card and your problem will be solved.

i kinda dont have any money because i had to buy a new mobo/cpu after they both died £160 it cost me -_-

ah well time to stop buying tm revolution albums and save up for a new graphics

try running the game at lower resolution? what are you trying to run at right now? what video settings you have set in game? what is the setting of your graphics card for nvidia scaling?

i have all graphics options on low and i didnt think about changeing resolution thanks i will try that
ok tried that no change seems a new graphics card is all i can do :/

and that processor is now overclocked by 15% to 3673.5 MHz
strange just looked at the motherboard information it says this

CPU
Socket Designation LGA775
Manufacturer Intel
Version Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6700 @ 3.20GHz
Supported Voltage 1.3 v
External Clock 266 MHz
Max Speed 3800 MHz
Current Speed 4000 MHz

ah well prime95 said it had no problems after i tortured it for an hour or so

as above asys the only problem is your gfx. it is underspec for the game. your cpu will get the best from a 9800gt, gtx, gtx+, gts250, gts450 or 4850, 5750 ot 5770 as they will balance your cpu also you want to upgrade your ram. its ddr2 533 not ddr3. you want ddr2 800 minimum and 1066 if your motherboard can handle it.

personally i wouldnt waste my money on a gts430 or 440 they wouldnt do your cpu justice and you will always be struggling to get decent fps in most games as they are barley above minimum spec and under minimum spec for todays games.
