We are not going to help you to figure out the extraction, crack, serial, keygen, virtual drive, mod, patch, reg edit and host editing you need to run pirate game. If you have a legit game with hardware or software incompatible issue, tell us with descriptive English and we are here to help. No need to be shy cause we don't know where you are.

a large portion of piraters wouldnt even buy the game in the first play and some even pirate the game to see if they want to buy the game. its not a negative as the devs would like everyone to think

Yes but the argument for the game studio is "if they pirate it and played it, they find out it is crap and don't want to buy it. But if they don't play pirate, they play demo which we can take the best part of the game for them to try, this will make them buy our stuff" I know this mentality is evil but crysis 2 coming out without dx11 initially is equally evil. I really see no solution to the pirate problem since every program/game is written by human and therefore crackable for pirate version by an equally skillful programmer. It's really late in Australia now and I am not going to dwel on some philosophical argument. Bye!

Making good games would be a start. I can sympathize with the pirates because we have all got amped about a new game went to buy it and found out if was crap. In that case the devs are pirating our wallets so yeah lol. I think if they switched to a system like steam they could do a revolving key code were it changed from time to time and needed to be logged on to authenticate. Now Im sure you could also find a way to crack that but it would be much harder than one code. But console games get pirated buy way of modding the console so there is piracy on all the gaming platforms.

True console game can be pirated but the game studio still insist on using that pc game pirate excuse. If you had previously join into any anti-pirate conversation, every thread will run into the same conclusion. The copyright law and the current mode of purchasing digital content is flawed and there needs to be a major change. Therefore, I am not going to spend more time into a conversation which was discussed countless times, in which I know where it will lead to.

Haha lol :D The OP posted an incomplete and vague question/comment, the thread turned to a debate on the issue of piracy, copyright law and DRM thanks largely to the quick and blatant accusation of piracy by Herr_Koos
and followed by a more political one by Pyree
and the OP is nowhere to be seen.... Atleast Pyree opened up the possiblity of him being a legal user/gamer (Kudos for that mate). Why don't we ask the OP for more information next time first on what he means before we make accusations (false or otherwise). If piracy is the case, then the necessary actions can be taken with full effect and with complete comfort (it doesn't feel good when you accuse someone of piracy and it turns out that he had an issue with his drivers or windows compatability).... Just food for thought here :)

:) I am not saying you were wrong in your initial assessment mate... By your own admission through the statistic you provided, there is a chance that the poster is using legit software. All I am saying is, let us give the person the benefit of the doubt and assume he is using legit software.

Now, in the case of this poster, we could have asked him to provide more information about his system, the game, what the problem is, etc and if he does not return, or if he does and makes it clear he is using pirated software (by his own admission or implied through his messages or otherwise), we could then ignore his posts and ask him to be banned (and other actions as necessary). Would have saved up a lot of effort by people arguing about piracy and why people do it (and turning the thread into a "philosophical debate" as Pyree correctly put it, although it is more than just philosophical; it has moral, ethical and legal implications too).

By the way, I imagine you asked to be notified when a response was posted so kudos to you for that- I guess you gave the poster the benefit of the doubt in a subtle way to see if he would come back? :)

By default, I choose to receive email notifications for all threads I posted in. Not much sense in making one post and then disappearing, now is there? :)

In most cases, I (and the majority of posters) will do exactly what you suggested above: Ask the person for more information, and give them the benefit of the doubt wrt piracy. I just had feeling we wouldn't be hearing from this guy again, so I probably wasn't too sympathetic towards him. I'm not always such an ogre... Guess I was a bit cranky on the day.

OP, wherever you are, come back. All is forgiven. (Unless you are a pirate, in which case.. STAY AWAY!)

I'll say cheers to that then ;)

It's not so much them reading the statements, it's them having no idea how the forums work and never checking email. Many people that are new to computers post the same question under 4 topics in 3 different areas and do the same thing in 6 different web sites. Then ask why no-one answered them in 4 minutes.
