Hi all,

I've just bought a DIMM of 256 Mo for my BP6 (RU bios).
The DIMM is double sided.

My problem is that the bios only shows 128 Mo.

Does someone knows how to solve this problem??

I remembered reading somewhere that a certain 815 chipset board didn't like double-sided DIMM's, but the BP6 is a 440BX. According to everything I found on the BP6 and the 440BX, it should support 256 MB double-sided DIMM's.
So, unfortunately, the only suggestion I can come up with is that maybe it's bad memory? What brand is it? I've heard of other people having problems with generic memory not being recognized as what it is. That's why I generally stick to Crucial or Mushkin memory.
Sorry I couldn't help more...

Thanks for help.

Obviously it's not mushkin or so, it's a cheap brand, really cheap!
Before buying it, I check it was double-sided 'cause I've heard of some problem between the BX chipset and 8*32Mo DIMMs...
Ok, there is some also with 16*16Mo DIMMs.

I think I'll send it back and stay with my 128Mo.

...Just making sure you tried the DIMM in different slots....
