intel 810 disabling????

I have been looking at a friends tiny computer where the motherboard has built in Intel 810 5Mb graphics chip and soundcard. Having removed the case the PC only has three pci slots and an AMR slot that is populated by a modem. We need to upgrade the videocard in this unit but I am worried about the ability to disable the graphics chip? the system is only a year old and has a Pentium 700 CPU and 20Gb HDD.
Has anyone disabled these chips or would a voodoo II card be a better option??

Most systems can only disable the driver in windows. But that works.
