Hi
i have just bought a new proliant server ml150 is has a single 80 gig sata
drive with a 4 port raid card
when i try to install win 2003 server, it starts up fine and i get the bios
dispaying that it can see the memory, the two processors and the hard drive
but when i get to the win install it says it cannot see any harddrives and
to reboot,
i reboot and at the point when the win install ask if i want to install any
third party raid controllers i go in and install the required driver (i have
tried all drivers from the disk and the website) however i still find the
same problem
i rang the helpline and after an hour of the guy umming he told me i needed
a second drive to setup the raid properly
now this seems a sensible solution and quite logical. but why dont they tell
you this when you buy the machine. why sell a machine with only one drive if
it wont work.
are there any ways around this or will i have to buy this second hard drive.
