Well, I was just sitting here, waiting for someone to post something new, and realized that I haven't seen a post about people's music interests yet.
We could have great fun psychoanalysing people because of the music they listen to.
I enjoy most music, other than country and most rap. As far as bands go I enjoy Metallica, Radiohead, The Dears. And then a whole slew of underground bands.

I just don't enjoy the style. For the most part I am a guitar guy and there isn't a whole lot of fancy/fast guitar work in country music. I also don't enjoy the twangy sounds some country music has.
Music is such a subjective thing that everyone is different.
Oops, forgot to put pop on my list of music I don't like.

There are only two types of music I listen to:
Country and Western.
hehe..
Anyways I listen to a wide variety of music and generally stick with modern rock.

Did anybody ever see the add for the Raymond Weil watch?
It had a band called Bond, 4 women who play old classical music in a remixed form. If you're a fan of Mozart or whatever orchestral classical music dude made phenomenal hits, go find their songs on Kazaa or something, they really rock. Try to get Victory if you can.
Back to topic, I personally am open to any kind of music and have at least ONE song of each type, that I can listen to, which is why I don't hate any kind.

Oh you guys...why does it have to be so cut and dried?
I used to think I hated country music too...but I'm a convert. My hubby and I listen to all kinds of music.
My personal tastes include:
Country (Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Collin Raye)
Folk (Simon & Garfunkel, Joan Biaz)
Pop
Classic rock
Some rap (some Eminem...though much rap out there is too hard for me)
Classical (Bach, Vivaldi)
Opera (arias, and Pavarotti)
I also like some selections from Metallica and other bands like that.
I like Sting and Paul Simon...don't know how to classify their music. Same with Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, and older Madonna stuff!
All kinds of stuff...music is great fun, and can enhance virtually ANY mood I'm in.

That's odd, putting the artist name Bond or typing the song name Victory yeilds it.
Maybe you weren't on a good server?
I think the album name is called Born.
And I agree with you, we shouldn't be so segregating on music types. They all have had their own specials, if we're picky. I may not be a fan of hard rock but I sure have at least one song in my mind that I don't mind hearing!
I don't know how to define the of Avril Lavigne's songs, she has punk, hard rock, and others, so I guess she's a variable!

i like some rap, none of that nelly crap, or puff (biter) dady, that crap is terrible. i cant stand pop music, or boy bands, that stuff pisses me off. im not a big fan of rock or any of that stuff, but theres no better drinking music than dave mathews. i dont live the hip hop culture at all but i really like the music, its the deepest music i have ever heard. i used to be heavy into happy hardcore and jungle, i still love them but im just not into it to it as much as i used to be. happy hardcore is almost dead but jungle is going strong. mostly its being absorbed into house. thats another one i hate, house. its so repetitive and uninteresting. there is one house song i like though, i cant listen to the whole thing though. its called music sounds better with you by stardust, its way too long buts its cool. my all time favorite artist is jordana aka 1.8.7, she is the most tallented junglist i have ever heard. her beats are so incredibly well thought out and complex its incredible. dj hype is really awsome also. i wish happy hardcore would have taken off, my fav dj/composer in that genre is robbie long and devistate, they kick a$$.

yea, i cant listen to it in the car, i just get bored, but in a group of freinds, drinking or not, its very good, i can listen to it at work too, i guess i just have to be doing somthing.

Music eh?
I listen to everything (almost)
Larry Heard, Morgan Geist, Losoul, Japanese Telecom, Dopplereffekt, Dexter
Sneakerpimps, Photek, Adult (Gotta love their nonsens texts ), Zero 7 and much more
that I don´t have the time to write down.
Give it a shot, download a 'song' or two...you might actually like it.

I don't know if you know this guy/jungle group, but I'm a big fan of Roni Size/Reprazent. The best UK jungle group without question. Goldie is pretty good too.
Roni Size is skilled, I have his Reprazent album (2 cd´s)...it´s very good.
Goldie, oh well...what can you say?
He is the one that brought Breakbeat & Drum&Bass to the masses by being
the first who released a cd with his material (Timeless), I´ve listened to that
cd...I don´t know how many times.
Sadly I think Drum & Bass of today has´nt evolved as much as other music styles
has, been there done that sort of.
Photek is almost the only guy I listen too when it comes to Drum & Bass nowadays, he´s
stuff is original at least.

ive got a few mp3s from roni size, they are pretty good. you heard of dj hype? the first time i heard anything by him it was a remix of blue flowers by dr octagon, it was the most ridiculous song i ever heard, it was just too cheesy. it was a joke with me and my freinds for a long time. then we came by a cd that had a few songs of his, about 4 or 5. one was a remix of some prodigy song. it was worth the money to hear that song, it was sure to be a good laugh. it turned out the rest of his songs were very good! you used to be able to find a ton of stuff on napster, but now kazza doesnt have much to offer but insync and porn.

Never heard of that guy but I'll sure check him out when my Internet connection at home gets sorted out.
Anyone like Jean Michel Jarre? I saw his concert in Paris in 1990, there were 2 million people at it and I swear I still have flashburns from the huge firework explosions. The largest one detonated over 1km above the crowd and they say it displaced three cubic miles of air. My ears were ringing for a week afterwards.
His older stuff is fabulous but the newer compositions are just weird.
U2
Queen
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Rage Against the Machine
Stephen Wolf
Deep Purple
War (Low Rider hehehehe)
Rob Zombie
Dave Mathew's Band
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Random songs from random bands
Bulgarian rock (don't laugh, it's the best, especially if u ever goto a concert, the classic stuff is unbeleivable)
dusijtpmo- don't use stupid internet jibberish to piss me off
I dunno, I´ve tried WinMX and I only find Rock & roll and such stuff, music I don´t want.
If you are into 'electronic' (yes I know, broad term) music I advice people to check out SoulSeek instead.
