Finally got my upgrade complete, my old system was a Pentium III 866 with Intel 815 motherboard and PC133 (256MB). Put in an AMD 1.33 Ghz T-Bird with Asus A7A266 (BIOS rev. 1004) and 256MB of DDR and almost DOUBLED my prior performance.
Example FS2000 on my old setup was 25-26 fps, it is now 43-45 fps (exact say location -- sitting on the runway).
Since I sold my old components the upgraded ended only cost me about $150 out of pocket. $150 for double my performance, well worth it in my book. Thanks to Tom for posting info and the ASUS A7A266.
BTW, this is NOT a Intel vs. AMD thread, just a post about how much I got from a very small expense.
Cheers, Rob.
