A Warning about z-buy.com

Hello all,
I just thought I’d relate an ongoing experience I am having
with z-buy.com. Fist let me say I have been buying online
for over 2 now years with no problems to speak of. I purchase
online for a number of reasons convince, price or maybe what
ever it is, is not available in my area when I want it.
I have bought from Memory Man, Muskin, 2coolTek, 3DFXcool
and others as a matter Of fact I bought twice from z-buy
a GF-256 and a GTS both without a problem. This is and was
mainly due to the fact that there was nothing wrong with
the hardware when it arrived. 2 weeks ago I ordered an
8KTA3 from z-buy.com and to shorten this, the board was
defective. This is the first time I have ever had to return
anything that I purchased online. I emailed then the same
night that I received the board this was a Friday. I got no
response not even an automated response from them until the
following Tuesday. I called many times never to get a live
human to speak to just voice mail witch of course I left
messages on and I never got a call back on.
To this day I have never talked to a live person from
z-buy.com. The board was ordered on 1/26/01 and returned
on 1/30/01 USPS 2-3 day priority. I am still sitting here
with no board and no idea of whether or not they’re sending
me a board or crediting my account, and no contact from
them email or otherwise since Wednesday last week. I have
contacted my credit card company they of course will take
care of this BUT I just thought I would let others know what
they might be getting themselves into if they buy from
z-buy.com and end up having to return it.

Usually you have to get an RMA(returned merchandise authorization) number from the company before shipping something off. Most of their sites will have some disclamer about this. If you sent it back with out an RMA good luck getting this sorted out. You basically gave them your motherboard without prior approving with them that it was defective. Good luck sorting this one out. Ive sent one or two things back before defective. Always had an RMA, always got a refund or replacement.

The last time I tried to use my imagination, I ended up in a straight jacket!

Well thanks for the advice, But yes I am aware that a RMA is required
and I got one maybe I wasn’t clear with this but I was trying to shorten
my post:

“I emailed then the same night that I received the board this was a Friday. I got no response not even an automated response from them until the
following Tuesday.”

BTW its now the 23rd and still no credit to my account as well as no response from them. They do not answer their main 800 line EVER with a live person only a voice mail system that allows you to leave a message and according to the rules of advertising on price watch this is not allowed. In order to advertise on price watch you “agree” to have a toll free line that’s manned by a “live” person during business hours. They have my board and my money and I have no idea what these people are thinking. I read a post in the [H]ard OP forum that someone wrote saying he waited 5 months for a credit from z-buy and that didn’t happen until the BBB got involved.

I have contacted my CC Company, the BBB, the USPS, The AG in NYC, Price Watch,
And others that escape me now as well as posting in as many forums as I can think of to let others that might be thinking of buying from z-buy, That this might also happen to you IF you end up having to return something to them.
