I have come up with the first ever THGC Networking challenge. We will have a prize for the the best answer in this thread. At this time, I have not determined what the prize will be, but it will be something network related for sure. (Perhaps a router or a wireless network card --- something like that.)
Here is how the challenge will work -
Your THG editors are always on the road and since my last experience with lack of broadband in my hotel at Quakecon (I had to drive back to Quakecon every night to use the broadband at Quakecon to file my stories), I have been looking for good accurate lists of wired and wireless broadband in hotels and airports accross the US.
You missision is to find the best link that contains the best and more current information on hotels that have broadband access.
Yes, it is pretty simple. You look around on the web and find the best link that you can find that provides an accurate list of hotels around the US (or world) that have broadband access. It can be a list, resource, or site.
For Example - (No one can use this one, since I am providing it as an example)
http://www.wayport.net/locations
You post a message in this offical thread in the forum with the link to your resource.
The contest starts 9/1/02 and runs till 9/30/02.
I will announce the winner in this thread and arrange the shipping of the prize to the winner with the best suggestion posted here.
My decision is final and THG can not be held responsible for late or mis-directed posts. All offical enteries must be made in this thread. All off topic disussions will be deleted.
So fire up your search engines and find the best resource and win a prize!

Try using a Wi-Fi card a yagi antenna and a tripod and "borrow" the internet from someone its not hard to do in big citys.I know it might be immoral or just plain wrong to do, but free temp broadband is always nice
Well, the contest is almost half way over and we seem to have stalled at suggestions.
Keep those suggestions coming in as you still have till the 30th, before I pick a winner.

--- The CONTEST Is Now Closed ---
We have a WINNER!
It was close, almost too close, but based on quality of answers/links Stick_e_Mouse our Faithful Poster is the winner.
Stick_e_Mouse will have his choice of two or three network type prizes and once he makes his selection, I will post which prize he choose. - (If Stick_e_Mouse has not read his private messages on the board yet, he isn't aware of this...)
Thanks for all of your hardwork and research and look forward to seeing another contest at some point in the future, you never know which group it will be in.
Thanks!
