GTA 4 on a MAC PRO

Hey everyone i have an eight core 3 ghz mac pro with an ATI Radeon x1900XT. If i were to keep this card and run a 1080p what framerates can i expect in GTA4. now i know that the most intnesive part of the game is the processor so how would it look would i get at least 20-25 fps under Windows 7 using DirectX 9.0c. or should i upgrade to the 8800gt for the mac both with 512Mb of VRAM?

At that resolution that would be the most you can expect, and I must say that your expectations are quite high from a X1900XT.

Oh well see on the mac side using openGL i get about 50 or more fps on all high settings in the half life series, killing floor, counter strike source and so on. i've never had a steam mac game that it doesn't blow away. But then again directx is a whole another monster and i do mean monster. it's not nearly as nice as OpenGL

Source engine games are forgiving. You cannot compare it to GTA IV. I do believe that if you want to play GTA IV, the 8800 GT would be a better choice.
