If you know what you want, Why do have to get it ONLY from Verizon? A quick
search found this one (New in a Verizon box, never used, $229.99) at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64355&item=5731717751&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Never understood why people who know what they want, have to get things ONLY
from Verizon. Why not get it from the place with the lowest price and has it
in stock?

I was in the same boat. I was ready to upgrade 2 phones to the 9900, in
mid-October, just when they started running out of them. It's never
come back to the town I'm in. But I was able to get both of them, by
going to the verizonwireless website and searching different cities,
then ordering them online.

I found 1 somewhere in Florida, and another in Chicago. The Florida
site redirected my order to a fulfilment center closer to me, and they
filled my order. The Chicago site told me they couldn't fill my order
and told me to call customer service instead. I explained to customer
service my story, and not only were they able to fill my order, they
gave me the instant online discount (instead of a mail-in rebate) and
they just put the phone on my wireless bill, not a credit card.

Somebody in Phonescoop recently mentioned Pittsburgh has em, so I
searched USPS.com for the zipcode (15122), and plugged it in to the
verizonwireless site. Yup sure enough, the 9900 is listed as available
there.

So if you really want the 9900, go for it! Good luck!

Thank you!! for your Pittburgh/ZIP alternate data regarding the 9900 unit.
Was just short of my NE2 two month "grace" period in Oct. (when they had
their initial 8800 sale..), and really concerned that my opportunity option
had passed.

Well, using your data and renewing/ordering on-line this past weekend
received my 9900 tonight (with accessories). Good stuff!
