How do I speed up my avatar? Everybody in the game seems faster, and more accurate than me.

They're better than you? People who don't play video games routinely don't have the reflexes to compete, and even if you do, and are new to a game, you have to go through a learning phase until everything in it clicks for you and you reflexively understand the game's physics.
