Help with an HP PSC 1315V Printer

Hello,

My friend purchased an HP PSC 1315V Printer/Scanner combination the
other day. He was having trouble with it today, so I went to take a
look at it. He has one tri-color ink cartridge in place, but no black.
He was able to print a picture the other day, but now it won't print
at all. It scans perfectly; but when I go to print it, it simply says
that the print was completed. The printer itself won't even go through
the cycle. What could be the problem?
