OK, I am wanting to buy an AMD processor but issues on this board make an eyebrow raise. Are the chipsets THAT problematic or is it just a few who are having this problem. Is ASUS & ABIT the best? What about IWILL, MSI, etc? They look nice and Tom had good things to say.

What say you .....

Yeah, I was nervous about going AMD for the same reasons. I went with the Asus A7A266 with the ALi chipset. It apparently (in benchmarks) isn't as fast as other chipsets, but I haven't read about a lot of problems with instability like with the Via based boards. For me, I'm really happy I went AMD. Good luck!

I have an MSI K7 Master (AMD 760/Via 686B). I have had no problems whatsoever and am very pleased with the performance.

I also have a K7-Master and have had no problems with it. There is a forum at www.msihardware.com dedicated just for this MB and you will find it very helpful with setup.
