Omnibook 900B Display problem

I have an Omnibook 900B and the LCD display only works when the
display is set to15 degrees off straight up, towards the keyboard.
Other normal positions of the display exhibit color tearing, rainbows
and other smearing. Once the display is set as above, it works fine.
This position is very awkward and I feel like Igor the Hunchback
trying to view the display in this position.

Could this be the interconnecting cable from the display to the main
board?

Any help would be appreciated.
