Hi,
I have several HP Laserjet 1100s at the office connected to Windows 98
computers.
I had been able to use those printers from my Windows 2000 computer
until I changed the name of the host computers.
When I try to add the printer as a new network printer with the new
name, my computer tells me that the host computer does not have the
proper driver, would I like to install it. Of course, I say yes.
I have tried installing the proper drivers using my computer with the
HP Laserjet 1100 CD without success. I get a message telling me that
the installation requres a copy of HPPTA.drv and asks me where to look
for it. It is not on the installation CD, but I have installed in my
system 32 directory and point it there. The program finds the file but
the installation fails and terminates.
I have also tried reinstalling the drivers on the windows 98 computer,
but that doesn't help, either.
Finally, I tried hooking up the printer to my computer and installing
it. That didn't work either.
Will someone please help me add these printers back to my computer?
