what do you do when you have dial up and the new computer doesn't have a modem?

Inernal modems are pretty cheap, if you are not confident in installing one, get an external one ( a bit dearer) that just plugs in.

An internal MODEM isn't an option if your Pavillion is a laptop and what ssdaemon doesn't seem to realise is that there are large parts of the world where dial-up is the only option - especially in the Broadband Third World country known as the UK.

Go to a PC store or local shop and ask for an external MODEM and if you do have a laptop, take it with you. They may be able to supply you with a PCMCIA card type of MODEM but they would need to see which type of PCMCIA card slot you have. If they can't supply that, or if you have a desktop PC, ask for a USB type.[/#000ff]
