Well, today in the computer room at school during 2nd period, I was just coding some C++ for fun and showing a friend tidbits about it. We decided at one point to goto <A HREF="http://www.candystand.com" target="_new">http://www.candystand.com</A> to play the online pool. In the meantime, this b!tch admin is standing on the side of this door for 15 minutes, spying on me. When she sees I goto a game site, she runs over starts yelling, and has closed my account so I can't use the comps. This is BS! She says games tie up the bandwith (though in actuallity, going to a website uses just as much) which is why she did that. This is pissing me off. What to do? One option is seeing as how she mistakenly left her password file on the server's hdd and it isn't encrypted tightly to get into admin account and enabling my own. Other option is to show em I'm mad and know more than them, and take down the server and fry it. What do u think? These idiots, and considering I fix the network most of the time for em!!!
dusijtpmo- don't use stupid internet jibberish to piss me off
BTW, these idiots made it so my account couldn't access internet a week ago cause of a "mistake". They don't like me cause I worked there over the summer, know more than them, and they hated the previous admin who got fired, who really liked me (he was the guy who hired me over summer).
dusijtpmo- don't use stupid internet jibberish to piss me off
Um.. ok.
Why don't you just get over it and move on with your life.
oh and if you wanna be mean just go destroy all the data on the server with the admin account and then delete all users and then log out. Sure you won't have internet access but neither will anyone else. It'll be fine.

I was just venting. Issue is we need comps for schoolwork, such as for tomorrow 1st period. I'll find a way to get it activated....

Screw them. Make the teachers sweat. Screw up the <b>whole</b> system.

You could allways go though their accounts looking for any incriminating evidence.
Make a special sys-admin account so you can allways keep your account active no matter what they do. Stay one step ahead of them. Never let on how its possible. Slow revenge is best.

No...you'll be sorry if you seek revenge. In the long run, it's always best to maintain integrity.
I can understand why you're pissed. But, if I were you I would put my energy into composing a well reasoned and eloquent letter explaining your position. It's never too early to start practicing diplomacy.
If you're dealing with adults who don't know much about computing..you're probably right in that they're threatened by your knowledge. Playing on that further will only back them into a corner and force their hand...I wouldn't do it.
You should always act with one eye to the future. Maintain your integrity...(assuming, of course, that you've got some...
)
<font color=red>"Monkey chow?"....."Well for the monkeys of course!!!!!!"</font color=red>
I'm with Lou, causing collateral damage to innocent users will do you nothing in the long run. I don't deal with such anymore, I know it from experience. Vent, but DON'T do something bad like this, you're smarter than that. Yes it's integrity.
BTW that was to Flamie of course.

O I know, just venting, aside from reenabling my account, I wouldn't destroy the server. Always fun to think of the wonderful possbilities
dusijtpmo- don't use stupid internet jibberish to piss me off
Hehhe, I get ya. We all tend to feel such, but the winners are those who refrain from doing so.
My friends would do anything to destroy the school's servers, sadly.

That's sad...that people have nothing better to do and so little integrity that they need to cause such mayhem. I have so little respect for "hackers"...I mean...their skills are amazing...but, jeez...create something useful already.
Anyway...Flame...glad to hear you're just venting. Good for you.
Incidentally, I would try to get them to give your account back through "proper channels" before you do it yourself. They probably <i>know</i> you could do it yourself...your character, however, is what's in question here.
I know...sound just like a mom...don't I?? LOL
<font color=red>"Monkey chow?"....."Well for the monkeys of course!!!!!!"</font color=red>
Indeeed.
Lou has the right idea... with modifications.
Send the letter of complaints... but keep the passwords or secret account or whatever it takes. You have the brains. Be subtle, drive them slowly crazy. Use your knowledge to drive em nuts in such a way that its impossible for them to blame you. And if they try, do the innocent act and make em look incompetent.
Subtelty has its rewards.
P.S. These are the thoughts of my hamster, I in no way endorse them.

Get an admin account, then get one of their personal accounts, then set up a huge warez + porn ftp... Let the rest just happen
Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
Just remember if you download kiddie porn to their pc with their account they'll have one hell of a ride... oh.. that's just evil.

I have to agree, that setting up a huge warez server on their network is a good idea.

Now, Grasshopper, you must learn to meditate. Any ultimate gamer must completely immerse ones self not only in the game but his or her immediate surroundings. Your heightened sense should have detected the evil system overlord before she even thought of entering the room and alt-tabbed out of danger. Just thought I would let you know that I had to turn the contrast on my screen way down to read your sig because of the 'white' text.

I thought about that but the white "one's" are seemingly optional and the sentence reads the same with or without them.

Normally I do notice, but she had been spying on me for about 20 mins!I think I found a way to get em back. See they go crazy about the gaming thing, but if you're on a gamesite b/c research or something, they can't say a thing. My friend had to research some game developer, so he was on his site, they saw him, and his account was deactivated. He then told the principal. It was activated immediatly after hehe. He's going tomorrow to further complain that he lost valuable research cause they deleted a few of his files. If a few more people pull the same things, they is out.

Yah, I tried highlighting the white and still was unreadable since the negative of white is black, which is also the colour my browser highlights in the way I have it set.

I don't have to try to destroy the school server. Those crazy administrators bought a Dell U1 server, that thing is going to destroy itself sooner or later.

Good... now you can always try to block their favourite sites on theit administrators account. Or make their starting page the page of IDSoftware... tough they will think immediatly you did that if you do that.

Never hurts to help it along. I'm sure they won't mind at all

Still don't understand why they didn't know where I was talking about when I said they got Delled.

heh, I've know lots of admins and none of them recommend a dell.

Luckily I don't work for/with them. Finally the school gets money for a better server and then thay waist it by buying an expensive Dell.

But they've got good support times. Well I know compaq does. If it breaks they respond within 4 hours.
"I can't promise perfection but I'll give it a fair shot and hope that it doesn't take away from the sponteneity and good humour of the forum, which I really enjoy." - <b>WingDing</b>
that is because they need something good to go with their product. They figure it is easier to provide good support than good products.
<font color=green>My other personality is schitzofrenic.</font color=green>
I know that the general consensus here is that compaq sucks. But from what i've seen and my own personal experience I think they are pretty good. (can't talk for dell) Compaq servers have been pretty solid and their support is amazing. Parts are almost always delivered next day. HP on the other hand kinda of sucks donkey nutz and i'm sad to see compaq go to them. But yes companies largely buy dell's or compaqs for the sole reason that you get 24/7/365 support in 4 hours or less and parts usually come next day. I've even seen parts come same day.

But you aren't allowed to tweak those machines... otherwise support=gone. I want to OC the U1 Rack server

I'm sure you would have a lot of fun OCing a U1 and knowing you there would be watercooling.
<font color=green>My other personality is schitzofrenic.</font color=green>
Now comps can only be used if teacher assigns comp work- this applies to all. Ok, we spend ~$1000 on each comp (that's after the 60% discount we get) and we have around 200+ comps in the highschool alone. Looking around, out of the 30 comps in this room, 4 of em (including myself) are being used. Sad...that's essentially $200,000 of taxpayer's money down the drain. BTW, I'm not even allowed to be tying this, but I have set up the monitors around me so the admin can't see what I;m doing. Gah.

You get used to school systems wasting tax payer money. You'd really think they do a better job at picking super intendants.

Send a couple of douzen of those PCs to my school... then we can hold LAN-parties after class.
We have 18 PCs with internet which can be accessed by every student with a schoolcard... mostly atleast the half of them are used and on busy hours all of them.
We also got a PC room with 30 PCs to be used for conpclasses and such things.
