Call of Duty: 4 MP

Ok, so i got CoD: 4 for PC and i install and a patched it and when i tried to run multiplayer it went to the black screen then said "iw3mp.exe has stopped working" no matter how many times i tried and canceling everything except the multiplayer but it still wont work. Can someone help me, i want to play it bad!!?

some times theres an issue with hd audio. normaly its the realtech 95 or 97 ac that causes it.
but check the event viewer and see if the iw3 error is audio related.

Sorry about sounding like a idiot but how do i check the event viewer?

i found out how to get to the event viewer. So how do i identify what caused the problem? Its just a lot of letters and numbers.

Make sure you have a mic plugged into the microphone jack....this will solve the problem.

i dont use a mic on PC gaming. Thanks for your answer but i got it fixed.
