Leaving Nextel, one of the "features" that I may miss is their on-line
web based address book where I can update/modify my phone book and
then download it to my phone.
This is a WHOLE lot easier than poking in all those phone numbers in
by hand.

Is there an easy/free way to back up the info (mostly
phone #/e-mail addresses) from my VZ Audiovox 8900? I
looked at BitPim (http://www.bitpim.org/testhelp/) and
this phone is unfortunately not supported.
I just want to keep the info elsewhere in case something
happens to the phone.

Nextel is doing some things right! Wish we had that.
One can use a data cable/VZX phone book manager software with the same
type of phone or pay around $4-6? and have VZW transfer BASIC info
betwen different model phones. Radioshack is also capable of phone
book transfers. No experience using RS.
For some reason VZW didn't transfer web addresses, like my phone book
manager/data cable can. I store lots of info in the email address
listings. It's only a few clicks, I wish they would just tranfer it
all at VZW, instead of the barebones phone number lists.
There's another option besides using a data cable. Voice Gear. CS said
it was $9.95 a month.
"To access Voice Gear services from your Verizon Wireless phone,
simply dial #VG (#84) SEND.
Simply say a name or number to make calls with Voice Activated Dialing
Import contacts quickly from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or
Lotus Notes.
Store up to 2000 contacts and up to 7 numbers for each (e.g."John
Smith Home," "John Smith Work" )
Add and edit contacts easily by voice or at the Voice Gear Website
Access your contacts anytime you get a new wireless phone without
re-programming
Access helpful, up to date information with Voice Browsing
Get the latest news, sports and weather using your voice
Check stock quotes*, movie times, flight info and more
Customize your favorite topics in any order you want at the Voice Gear
Website
Simply say the topic name and information is read aloud"

And another web-based Outlook-to-phone-sync service is MightyPhone

...unfortunately, the only place I've found that has the CDM-9900
phonebook software is Verizon within the Mobile Office pack..and it's
*pricey*.
Does anyone else have phonebook software compatible with the Audiovox
CDM-9900?
