Can my rig max Oblivion?

I heard that the PC version of Elder Scrolls Oblivion is much more demanding than the one for the consoles. I have a Core i7 930, 6GB DDR3 RAM, and two Radeon HD 5870's (1GB) in CFX. Can I play Elder Scrolls Oblivion on 1920x1080 with all of the other settings set as high as they can go and get smooth framerates?

I heard that texture mods can make the game even more demanding than Crysis.

  2. umm.. oblivion was released in 2005. I dont know about any mods, but with the stock game I wouldnt be surprised if you got 200-300 fps.

Agree with all the others. Oblivion on your rig, would run perfectly without any vows. You will be able to max out the game.

And yes, the texture mods, makes it demanding a bit, but you'll still be able to max it out, with maybe some frame rates killed.

Is there any console command I can type in to display my framerate on the top corner of the screen?

Are there any known technical issues with the PC version of Oblivion?
  6. I can max it with texture and quality mods enabled with my 560Ti and get an average of 40FPS. It will drop sometimes however.

There are a lot of bugs with Oblivion, but they are more minor than some of the console bugs, and can be fixed by downloading and installing the Unofficial Oblivion Patch which fixes most of Oblivion's bugs.

  7. My old P 4, X850 could max Oblivion at well over 30fps. On my current rig a C2Duo and 8800 GTX it is maxed out at average 59 FPS......if the I 7 can't max this game out then I really would take it back to the store.
