HDD S.M.A.R.T.

i just got a new Giga-Bite 7DX mobo and a new ibm deskstar 20gb hard drive. my question is what does HDD S.M.A.R.T. do and should i enable couse i also have a western digital wd200 HD that does not have S.M.A.R.T. so shouild i enable it or not??

it is a diagnostic tool for hard drives. It helps tell you of problems you may have. it has saved my ass on ocasion, it told of HD problems before I had noticed.

Keep in mind... that enabling SMART may also decrease HD performance.
