hmmm, maybe a stupid-noob-question, but what on earth IS an ACR slot for ? they only seem to show up on reference boards for new / under-dev chipsets (SiS reference board, nForce ref. board) ... i've *NEVER* seen one in the wild... anyone care to enlighten me ?

na this <A HREF="http://www.giga-byte.com/products/6oxep.htm" target="_new">Gigabyte board</A> shows what the CNR looks like. The ACR is a <A HREF="http://www.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q2/010430/apollopro266-05.html" target="_new">backward 32bit PCI</A>. And just for fun here's a link I saw that shows <A HREF="http://www.supermicro.com/images/Imag_Prod/840/PCI_Slots.JPG" target="_new">3 different PCI slots</A> not including the ACR.
