A dumb one - what core voltage for 1.4 Athlon?

Sorry if this is really dumb, but I'm being told different things by Epox (my mobo manufacturer) and AMD. Epox say some 1.4GHz CPU's use the Palomino core and need a core voltage of 1.4. AMD say it's 1.75 volts.

Please can somebody set me straight so I don't fry my board.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure they don't sell the Palomino (Athlon 4) yet, so I would therefore venture to say that you have an Athlon 1.4 GHz, and the voltage should be 1.75 volts.

If you want to overclock the processor at some point, though, I've heard that increasing the core voltage (to 1.85 or so) will help with stability. At the cost of extra heat, anyway. But, I don't overclock, so I couldn't really give you much advice in that area.
