Hi

I have just bought and installed a P4 1.40, with a Gigabyte GA-8TX Mother Board.

My problem is with the Mother Board Drivers in that when the machine boots into Windows it keeps finding two new devices, first is an unknown device followed by PCI Managment Bus, however i cant locate the drivers for either of these.

I have checked the Driver CD that came with the MB & the Win98 disc, i have also run all the install programs off the disc for the Intel Chipset drivers, but it still wont find them!

Current spec:
GA-8TX MB
P4 1.40 CPU
128MB RIMM
20GB IBM HDD
50X CD-ROM
GE-FORCE II MX
On-Board SB (i have disabled it)

Any help or advice at this stage would be much appreciated :)

Thanks

Just a thought but it might be the Ultra ATA 100 driver for your hard drive. Win98SE would not recognize this if you have it.

Thanks for the reply!

So should i download an updated HDD Driver from the IBM site?

Thanks

The unknown device is most likely the PCI bus or the PCI controller, both drivers should be in your INF folder under windows and would also be on the CD that came with your M/B.
PCI management would also be in both locations.....this is BASIC setup stuff and if you are having difficulties, I suggest you cancel them when you reboot, then from CONTROL PANEL install the device drivers one at a time.
