Great series. I just bought the DVDs today. It's so much better with 5.1 sound too.

I don't know why, but I divxed the first episode. 720x368 resolution and with 5.1 channel ac3 audio

Yes I have watched it (thank you Direct Connect!), it is pretty good, if not damn good!
Well, with names like Steven Schpritzerberg and Tom Hornywanks as producers you probably
could expect the quality to be great.
It´s almost like a feature film qualitywise.
Hope episode 5 is finished downloading when I get home, can´t wait to see it.

Nice actors too, I love that they put that guy (don´t know his name obviously)
that played in Officespace in it (Office space...I LOVE that movie, it reminds me of me  )
Just a question, why did they have to put that retard David Schwimmer in it?
I hope he die.

Nope, not yet. But I heard it was very good.

My CPU runs so hot the arctic silver undergoes nuclear fusion  .

Yeah, that office space guy is really good. My favourite is Spears. He's pretty cool.

I don't know why Schwimmer is in it... almost ruined it for me.

I haven't seen it yet. I've heard that it's great. Guess I'll be picking up the DVD box set.

Jake could you please explain how Direct Connect works, I've got it installed but I can't seem to get going with it. What is the Hub concept and how does it work, this is completely different from any other filesharing programs I've used. Thanks

It's just like how napster worked, except that with napster, your hub was picked automatically. With DC, you actually have to choose your hub.

Ever used the IRC? Hubs are like chat rooms. Connect to one (make sure you meet the requirements first), and then do your searches.

I never used Napster, filesharing is a completely new territory for me, I used Ares some but DC is like Greek to me, nothing wrong with Greek I just don't understand it. Some windows said I needed to change my nickname to get in, whats that all about.

You also should look for the small program called Share Hacker. It simulates a share disk size, since not everyone has insane share sizes over 50GB!

Some hubs require that you put your isp in brackets before your name. If you don't wanna do that, just try a different hub.

Just start up direct connect, when the "connect to hub" window pops up, hit the "public" button (if it doesn't come up right away, hit the "connect" button in the top left corner first).

A list of hubs will come up. Double click on one to connect to it. It may take a few tries of different hubs to get into one due to restrictions though. Then type something into the search and click the search button. Once the list is complete, double click on a file to download it (make sure the person you're getting it from has some open slots or else you'll have to wait in a queue).

Yep, what they said pretty much sums it up.
Anyway...download DCPlusPlus if you have´nt, it is better than the original version as it is able to resume broken downloads and other stuff.
Also, open up more hubs than 1 if you want more sources to download from, I usually have around 5 or 6 hubs at the same time.
Be careful though as you may be kicked (or worse, banned) if someone (OP that is) discovers that you have 40+ slots open and have 10+ hubs open at the same time.
If you´re kicked it usually means that you can reconnect to that hub within a few hours again, if you´re banned it can take ages (until someone clears the temp-ban list).
Hmmm, what more...yes, a common questions is that people can´t search...this has to to with people being behind firewalls, check your settings and activate 'Passive' (behind firewall) or 'Active' (no firewall).

Well, that´s all I can think of for now.

I did! I did!
Yes, I know it's been released over a month ago, but my woman just got the box set for me for Christmas. I just finished watching it, and it is AWSOME! It's like "Saving Private Ryan" but 10 bigger and 10 times better!!!

One of the best part was the 6th dvd that contained the extras, the part when the surviving Easy-Company talked through the whole story and show lots of clips from the real WWII.

This box set is definitly worth your money. It's probably one of my best, if not the best, movie/mini series I've ever watched! For those of you guys who haven't watched it yet, you need to stop wasting money on crap movies like "Spider-Geek" and "Nerd of the Rings". Watch this movie! And I'm talking getting the dvd instead of download illegal shite because the 5.1 surround sound is awsome (you could hear the bullets fly by your head as if you're in the movie yourself)!! If you can't afford it, rent it!

Disregard my previous post.
