Connecting to Media problem

Just recently I have been having trouble "connecting media" with my Pavilion
725n. This isn't a big thing, but it is annoying. I like to download
(legally, through sites like Walmart downloads, Music Match, etc.). Part of
this process involves listening to music first with either Windows Media
Player or Real Player or Music Match Jukebox. For the last month or so I
have not been able to do this, the application just times out while
"connecting to media". It will work for a while if I reinstall my Audio 97
drivers, but I shouldn't have to keep reinstalling drivers for such a simple
task. Anyone have any ideas?
